<p> The CUNY Fatherhood Academy (CFA) is a free program for young fathers or expecting fathers who are 18 to 28 years old. The CFA helps men prepare for their high school equivalency (HSE) diploma exam or get ready for college. Men can get tutoring and take workshops on parenting, job readiness, and more. </p>

<p> If you have a disability that makes it hard to use accessible buses or the subway, you can apply for Access-A-Ride. AAR operates 24/7, 365 days a year, throughout the five boroughs of NYC. A vehicle, specific to your needs, will pick you up and take you to your destination. </p>

<p> HEAP helps eligible households meet their home energy needs in the winter season. The money can pay for fuel, your utility source, equipment and/or repairs. The City pays the costs either directly to the company (heating benefit and/or utility benefit) or to the household (utility benefit only). </p>

<p> If you have a disability that makes it hard to use accessible buses or the subway, you can apply for Access-A-Ride. AAR operates 24/7, 365 days a year, throughout the five boroughs of NYC. A vehicle, specific to your needs, will pick you up and take you to your destination. </p>

<p> People with disabilities can get transportation throughout the five boroughs of NYC. </p>

<ul> <li>The price is the same as full fare on public transportation </li> <li>AAR may take up to 21 days to process your application after your in-person assessment </li> <li>A subscription service is available if you travel to the same places at the same time of day at least once each week </li> <li>Some customers require the assistance of a personal care attendant (PCA) who <a href="http://web.mta.info/nyct/paratran/guide.htm#attendan" target="_blank">performs personal duties</a> that drivers are not allowed to do during travel. <p> HEAP helps eligible households meet their home energy needs in the winter season. The money can pay for fuel, your utility source, equipment and/or repairs. <p> The Young Adult Literacy Program (YALP) is a free program that helps youth ages 16-24 who struggle with reading, writing, and math prepare for <a href="http://www.acces.nysed.gov/hse/high-school-equivalency-hse"><u>high school equivalency</u></a> (HSE) classes. Participants can attend pre-HSE classes and get support at eight community-based organizations (CBOs) and eight public libraries in NYC. </p>

<p> YALP helps youth struggling with reading and math increase their skills so that they can enroll in high school equivalency tests and preparation programs. </p>

<ul> <li>Students with at least a 70 percent average attendance rate can participate in paid internships </li> <li>You do not have to be a US citizen to participate </li> <li>Available to English Language Learners (ELL) </li> </ul>
