The Council-funded quantitative study, "Partners and Peers: Sexual and Dating Violence Among NYC Youth" has been enhanced by the participatory action research project of the Council-funded Youth Action Council. Action Council members developed qualitative information through photography about how sexual and dating violence manifests itself in the youth population and provides a starting point for prevention efforts. Disseminating those results to youth, school and youth serving organization personnel in Council District 3 is key to ensuring that the research leads to changes in the way youth are treated if they identify that they have been sexually assaulted/abused to adults in their life and how to prevent sexual and dating violence in the youth population. The Alliance's home, in the Fontana Center for Child Protection, lends itself to such an exhibit because the first floor space is dedicated to a history of response to child abuse in NYC. Visitors will have the opportunity to view both exhibits.
