Vehicle-related thefts are happening at an increased rate in your area, including ZIP codes 10033, 10034, and 10040. Thieves are targeting newer Toyota Highlanders. To limit your risk, the NYPD 34th Precinct encourages owners to consider anti-theft measures such as making sure their vehicles are locked and parking in well-lit areas. In addition, the 34th Precinct encourages installing the following anti-theft measures in your vehicles: 1. Steering wheel locks. 2. OBD connector port locks. 3. 3rd party GPS tracking.
