Q44 1
The students at P373K have the opportunity to participate in visual, theater, music, dance, and film/media arts in varied settings within and outside of the school environment. They have the opportunity to visit local cultural organizations, museums & galleries, assemblies, lectures, educational films, and hands-on learning experiences within our community. Our school has built a well-rounded arts program that continues to grow and has been largely documented by the students themselves and showcased on the student-built and maintained school website. Also, since the inception of our musical theater program 3 years ago, students have taken on increasingly challenging projects; this year we will be presenting "GREASE". The students are creating the artwork and set design for this performance, participating in chorus, dance, film, and acting. Some students have even taken on direction, production, stage management, lighting and sound, and costume design. Our school arts program continues to evolve yearly, as nearly all classroom teachers are collaborating to incorporate different arts disciplines into their classrooms to support their curricula and our young adults' creative strengths.
