Mosaic's school based art program consists of a visual arts teacher and a dance teacher. The classroom teachers teach the other disciplines of art in the classroom. In addition, students are exposed to the arts through art based performances both in school and out of school. Also, students take various trips throughout the year to visit museums, theaters, cultural institutions and art based organizations. Mosaic Preparatory Academy studied the various forms of art/artists throughout the 2015-2016 school year: September - Swing, Big Band, Artist Focus John Sloan October - Ballroom Dance, Classical Music, Artist Focus Georgia O'Keefe November - Square Dancing, Folk Music, Artist Focus Henri Mattise December - Country Dance, Country Music, Artist Focus Wassily Kadinsky January - Modern Ballet, Symphony, Artist Pablo Picasso February - Disco Dance, Disco Music, Artist Paul Cezanne March - Modern Dance, Soul Music, Artist Mark Rothko April - Hip-Hop Dance, Funk Music, Artist Betye Saar May - Salsa Dance, Latin Music, Artist Salvador Dali June - Tap Dance, Blues Music, and Artist John White.
As a culminating activity at the end of the school year, all scholars learn Langston Hughes poems and perform them through dance, song and theater.
