PI/IS 210, The Twenty-First Century Academy for Community Leadership, offers a rich and dynamic arts program that emphasizes music, visual art, and theater/dance. Students in grades PK-8 have weekly visual arts, music, and theater/dance classes. Middle school students have additional opportunities for arts instruction during elective periods. The school maintains relationships with the Theater Development Fund, the Museum of Modern Art, the Cloisters Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Whitney Museum. Music offerings include piano ensemble, drumming ensemble, recorder ensemble, xylophone ensemble, and chorus. Art offerings include drawing, painting, clay (with a kiln in the school art department), and other media. Theater students study play-writing, acting, dance, technical theater, and present productions. Field trips to museums and other cultural organizations frequently supplement classroom instruction. Many opportunities for sharing arts products with the school community exist, such as concerts, graduation ceremonies and art displays in the school's hallways and display cases.
