<p>The Early Intervention Program helps children under age three who have learning disabilities and may need support with things like talking, walking, learning, or playing. The program will work with your family to build a personalized plan with clear goals and services to help your child grow and thrive.</p>

<p>Early Intervention is a voluntary program for infants and toddlers with disabilities and developmental delays with support for families.</p>

<ul><li>EIP is available to all families in New York City regardless of income or immigration status.</li><li>EIP is <strong>free</strong>. If you have health insurance, including Medicaid, it may be billed but you will never pay out of pocket, and your coverage will not be affected.</li><li>Your child can leave the program at any time. Around the time your child turns two, you and your EIP team will start planning together for what comes next.</li><li>When your child turns three, they may qualify for preschool special education services through the <a href="https://www.schools.nyc.gov/learning/special-education/help/committees-on-special-education" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Department of Education</a>.</li><li>If your child is not eligible for EIP and is under three, you can enroll them in <a href="https://www1.nyc.gov/site/doh/health/health-topics/early-intervention-developmental-monitoring.page" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Early Intervention Developmental Monitoring</a> a free program that tracks whether your child is meeting milestones for their age.</li></ul>

<p>To be eligible for EIP your child must:</p><ul><li>Live in New York City.</li><li>Be under the age of three (up to two years and 11 months).</li><li>Be evaluated (program staff will help you choose an evaluating agency).</li></ul>

<p>Anyone can refer a child up to age three for EIP. <p>People with low and moderate income can rent affordable housing through the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA). </p>

<p>Affordable housing for low-and moderate-income New Yorkers.</p>

<ul><li>Rent is based on your family's income. Most buildings have electricity and gas included in the rent.</li><li>You do not need to be a citizen to apply. However, at least one person who lives with you must be a citizen or have legal immigration status.</li><li>Accessible apartments are available for people with disabilities. Some apartments have been modified and are available for persons with mobility impairments. Other reasonable accommodations can be made as well.</li><li>Affordable housing options are also available through <a href="https://www1.nyc.gov/site/hpd/services-and-information/housing-connect-rentals.page" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">NYC Housing Connect</a> and <a href="http://www.nychdc.com/pages/Now-Renting.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">NYC Housing Development Corporation</a>.</li><li>NYCHA has Senior and Community Centers, and programs that help residents find work and learn how to manage money and finances.</li></ul>

<p>To qualify for public housing, all of the following must be true:</p><ol><li>At least one person in your household is a U.S. citizen or has legal immigration status such as permanent resident (Green Card), refugee, or asylum status.</li><li>You're 18 or older, or you're an emancipated minor.</li><li>If you're applying with a spouse or domestic partner, they're also 18 or older, or an emancipated minor.</li><li>If you're applying for senior public housing, everyone in your household is 62 or older.</li><li>Your household qualifies as a family under NYCHA's rules. <p>Free, full-day and high-quality education for New York City three-year-olds.</p>

<p><strong>Apply from January 14, 2026 to February 27, 2026 for the 2026-2027 school year.</strong></p><p><strong>When can my child start?</strong> Children can apply to 3-K in the calendar year they turn three.</p><p><strong>How do I find programs?</strong> Use <a href="https://www.myschools.nyc/en/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">MySchools</a> to search for and learn about 3-K options. Your child gets priority for programs in your home district.</p><p><strong>What seat types are available?</strong> Programs offer Full Day, Extended Day and Year, and Head Start seats. </p><p><strong>Where are programs located?</strong> 3-K programs are available across all five boroughs. Settings include public schools, NYCDOE-run centers, and community-based organizations. All programs use the same high-quality, play-based DOE curriculum.</p>

<p>All New York City families with children born in 2023 can apply for the upcoming school year. <p>CUNY students seeking an associate degree can get a strong start to college with affordable courses that help them meet CUNYs required scores in English and math.</p>

<p>CUNY students can get help meeting CUNY's proficiency standards and preparing for college-level courses.</p>

<p>Train & Earn is a short-term program for low-income youth ages 16-24 who are not working nor in school. Youth can get training to improve their job skills and find permanent work, as well as get HSE prep. </p>

<p>Job training, employment services, and prep to help you pass your High School Equivalency (HSE) tests. Available for youth who are not working nor in school.</p>

<ul><li>Train & Earn can help you get:<ul><li>a permanent job.</li><li>high school equivalency (HSE) if you need it.</li><li>education and training after high school.</li></ul></li><li>You can enroll at different times throughout the year.</li><li>After finishing the program, you can get follow-up services for up to 12 months.<br/></li></ul>

<p>FHEPS pays some or all of the rent of families who have been evicted, are facing eviction, or have lost housing due to domestic violence. <p>You may be able to get cash help if you cannot pay your bills because you lost your job, are getting less pay from your job, or had another emergency like an unexpected medical situation. This help is called "Emergency Assistance" or a "One Shot Deal."</p>

<p>Cash help for people who can't pay an expense due to an unexpected situation or event.</p>

<ul><li>Emergency assistance can help you if:<ul><li>you are experiencing homelessness or will lose your housing if you do not get help.</li><li>your gas or electricity has been shut off, or you got a notice saying that it will be shut off.</li><li>you lost clothes, personal items, or furniture because of theft, a fire, or a natural disaster.</li><li>you are affected by domestic violence.</li><li>you have other issues that affect the health and safety of you or your family.</li></ul></li><li>You may be required to pay back some or all the Emergency Assistance. HRA will let you know if and how much to pay back.</li><li>You may apply for Emergency Assistance even if you got it before. If you were asked to pay back a past grant but did not, your eligibility for a new grant may be affected. </li></ul>

<p>The Affordable Broadband Act makes it easier for people who receive benefits like SNAP or Medicaid to get discounted internet service at home.</p>

<p>Get discounted home internet through the Affordable Broadband Act if you receive SNAP, Medicaid, or other benefits.</p>

<ul><li>The Affordable Broadband Act is a permanent law guaranteeing discounted internet for eligible households, unlike the Affordable Connectivity Program which was a temporary COVID-19 pandemic benefit.</li><li>The law requires large internet providers to offer 25 Mbps (or more) plans for no more than $15 per month. Internet providers can also comply with the law by offering 200 Mbps (or more) plans for no more than $20 per month.</li><li>These reduced-cost plans already include taxes and equipment fees, so you dont pay more.</li><li>Plans, speeds, and providers depend on your location.</li><li>You dont have to buy any other services (sometimes called bundles) with the plan.</li><li>Mobile and dial-up services arent included.</li></ul>
