<p>The Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) removes street trees and large branches that have fallen to the ground in front of houses, in parks, and in other public places. DPR also removes trees or branches that are blocking sidewalks or streets, as well as branches that are cracked or hanging and about to fall. <p>The City is developing a way to offer better temporary housing to residents who have been displaced by a disaster. Following an open design competition, testing has begun for a prototype multi-story, multi-family interim housing, which residents could use after emergency sheltering.</p> <p>The model prototype is located on the corner of Cadman Plaza East and Red Cross Place in Brooklyn and will remain up until April, 2015. The prototype will open its gallery to the public from 11 AM to 1 PM. Group tours will be available on weekdays from 9 AM to 5 PM by appointment only.</p>
