Christmas Holiday Information

<p>Thursday, December 25, is Christmas Day. All government offices are closed on Christmas Day, including courts and the Department of Motor Vehicles. There is no mail delivery.</p> <p>All public schools in the City are closed Thursday, December 24 through Friday, January 1 for Winter Recess. Students return to school on Monday, January 4, 2016. The Department of Education Parent Support Hotline is closed Thursday, December 24 and Friday, December 25.</p> <p>Alternate Side Parking regulations are suspended and parking meters do not have to be paid. Additionally, no stopping, no standing, and no parking regulations are suspended, except where those regulations are in effect at any time or 7 days a week.</p> <p>There is no Sanitation collection. If Friday is your regular garbage or organics day, place your items out after 4 PM on Friday, December 25. If Friday is your regular recycling day, wait until after 4 PM on January 1 to put out your recycling.</p> <p>The Staten Island Ferry runs on a holiday schedule. Boats run every 30 minutes between 7 AM and 11 PM. Normal service resumes after 11 PM.</p> <p>All branches of the City's library systems are closed.</p>
